Mission

The Table Mentor Extension Group’s mission is to provide access and opportunity for mentorship and sponsorship to professionals of color to assist in growth and development, making Nashville the model community for equity and inclusion.

Mentor Expectations and Guidelines
  • Meet a minimum of one hour per month.  Time commitment to be determined between Mentor & Mentee.
  • Mentor leads in creating welcoming and safe space
  • Focus is on career and educational advancement needs of the Mentee
  • Build trust with one another by being open, honest and encouraging
  • Accept and value one another’s differences
  • Maintain confidentiality between one another 
  • Review agenda and be prepared to discuss agenda topics
  • Follow-up and follow-through with any homework or commitments
  • Provide feedback about the mentoring relationship and be open to receiving feedback
  • Continuously align to ensure needs of the mentee and skills of mentor are a good match and check this working for both parties  
  • Be open to learning
